About the Role

As Transport Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of drivers and transport staff while ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest service standards.

You will play a key role in driving operational performance, managing compliance obligations, controlling costs, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the transport function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support a team of drivers to achieve operational and customer service objectives.
• Monitor delivery performance, customer service outcomes, and driver productivity.
• Manage transport costs, wages, freight expenses, and departmental budgets within established targets.
• Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, HACCP, WHS, and company policies.
• Investigate and resolve driver performance, customer service, and operational issues promptly.
• Analyse and manage delivery credits, service failures, and cost improvement opportunities.
• Conduct driver onboarding, training, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Work closely with Sales Representatives and internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements and improve service outcomes.
• Attend daily operational meetings and provide transport updates, reporting, and recommendations.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in transport, logistics, or food service distribution operations.
• Strong leadership and people management experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage costs, budgets, labour utilisation, and operational performance.
• Sound understanding of transport compliance, fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), HACCP, and WHS requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with transport management systems and operational reporting.
• AFM/BFM accreditation highly regarded.
• HR Licence advantageous but not essential.
• Flexible, reliable, and customer-focused.
