About this Position  

We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Financial Systems & Analytics) to own and evolve our finance data platform, supporting critical planning, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities across the business. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and finance, responsible for building robust data pipelines and architecture while partnering closely with finance stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and fit for purpose. You will take ownership of our current financial planning environment (including TM1) while playing a key role in shaping and supporting future system enhancements and transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines integrating ERP, Financial Planning Systems (Anaplan, Onestream, Workday, and others), and other business systems
  • Build and optimise data models to support financial reporting, planning, and forecasting (e.g. P&L, balance sheet)
  • Manage and enhance the financial data platform (Databricks/Lakehouse), ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Support and maintain financial systems (including TM1), ensuring continuity of business-critical processes
  • Partner with finance stakeholders to translate reporting and planning requirements into data solutions
  • Contribute to system improvements and future state design, including potential financial planning tool migration
  • Ensure strong data governance, quality, and security controls across financial datasets

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer, building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data platforms (e.g. Databricks, Spark, SQL)
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts (e.g. P&L, forecasting, budgeting cycles)
  • Experience working with financial data or finance systems (e.g. TM1 or similar EPM tools)
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling (star/snowflake schemas)
  • Ability to partner with finance stakeholders and translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Experience supporting and maintaining production systems in a business-critical environment
  • Exposure to system implementation or migration projects (highly regarded)
