As demand continues to grow, we have expanded rapidly, now delivering a superior range of dry goods, frozen and chilled products, fresh seafood and meat, confectionery, paper products, and cleaning solutions.

In recent years, we’ve seen significant growth and invested in our systems and processes, building a close partnership with Woolworths Group that has continued to deliver high-quality service for our customers and suppliers

In 2024, Woolworths moved to a 100% interest in the PFD business, bringing PFD exciting opportunities as a strategic part of the Group. Sharing expertise across both teams will ensure our continued success and drive further growth and unlock our collective potential.

About this Position

As the Sales Representative for Canberra, you’ll be out on the road, meeting the café owners, chefs, school buyers and operators who make this region’s food scene what it is. You’ll become the familiar face they rely on when they need advice, support, or simply someone who understands the pressures of running a kitchen.

No two days look the same. One morning you’re helping a chef find a solution to a supply issue; that afternoon you’re uncovering growth opportunities with an aged-care provider; the next day you’re building out a plan for a customer who’s ready to scale.

At PFD, we bring people together through food and in this role, you bring that purpose to life in every conversation, every delivery saved, every menu you help shape.

This is a chance to own your territory, build genuine community connections, and represent a brand that proudly supports Australia’s foodservice industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow and retain a diverse customer base across cafés, restaurants, schools, and care providers.
  • Protect base business while driving margin, basket growth, and new sales opportunities.
  • Use data, insights and your local knowledge to plan and execute territory sales activity.
  • Build strong internal relationships with our Canberra branch - operations, purchasing, customer service and transport.
  • Work with suppliers to bring the right products, promotions and solutions to customers.
  • Maintain disciplined CRM updates, visit planning, and weekly activity rhythms.
  • Ensure customers feel supported, heard and valued through proactive service and problem solving.
  • Represent PFD professionally, safely and in line with company policies and OH&S requirements

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • A genuine passion for food and people.
  • Hospitality or foodservice sales experience (bonus points if you’ve worked in kitchens - our chefs love that).
  • The ability to read people, build rapport quickly and tailor your communication.
  • Comfort working to weekly rhythms and KPIs while still having the autonomy to run your day.
  • Resilience, resourcefulness and calm when the unexpected happens because it will
  • Strong CRM habits, planning skills and follow-through.
  • A flexible approach to hours (we often start around 7am and customers don’t always operate 9-5).
  • Hunger for relationships, solutions and growth.

This role suits someone who is equal parts relationship-builder and commercial thinker, someone who genuinely enjoys being out in the community supporting the people who feed our city.

What Will Success Look Like After 6-12 Months?

  • A trusted territory; customers call you first.
  • Consistent rhythm of visits, CRM discipline and planning.
  • Strong margin, basket and new business growth.
  • Seamless collaboration with the Canberra branch.
  • Solid understanding of our products, suppliers and pricing.
  • Known as someone who gets things done with calm and care.
  • Customers feel the PFD experience through you.
  • You live our purpose: bringing people together through food.
