The Role

The purpose of this role is to maximise ranging and sales opportunities ensuring maximum distribution of PFD products across a portfolio of specialist customer types.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

  • Develop the sales capability of sales representatives through effective recruitment, induction, in field training and coaching, 1:1 reviews and personal development plans
  • Provide input in developing the state strategic sales plan and develop local tactical sales plan to achieve sales and margin budget
  • Full accountability of achieving the region/branch sales and margin targets through effective planning, protecting base sales, basket growth, margin optimisation and new business
  • Utilise PFD unique value proposition and promotional programs to sell food service product and services
  • Ensure PFD sales systems (CRM/OMS/Larry) are implemented and adopted by all Sales Representatives
  • Through the effective use of data, ensure sales and margin planning processes are in place to enable targeted sales objectives
  • Drive targeted new business opportunities within the nominated territories

Knowledge, skills and qualifications

  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • High impact communication
  • Strong sales background and understanding of sales processes or relevant food service industry experience
  • Ability to coach, develop and motivate a remote sales team
  • Commercially astute
  • Ability to manage people and processes
  • Digital literacy (use of tablet/laptop) and basic Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, Word
  • Ability to adapt, encourage and promote change
  • Ability to set budgets and determine objectives for achieving such targets
  • Ability to make the day to day decisions required to manage a sales function
