Purpose of the role

Act as the first point of contact for P&C enquiries, providing timely, practical and customer-focused advice to managers and employees. The role undertakes end to end employee relations case management matters, supports the consistent application of P&C policies and industrial instruments, and contributes to the effective delivery and continuous improvement of P&C services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical P&C advice and support to managers and employees.
  • Undertakes end to end employee relations case management matters, including grievances, performance, conduct and policy breaches.
  • Prepare, provide support and participate in Conciliation hearings.
  • Interpret and apply P&C policies, procedures, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and employment legislation.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation and maintain accurate records of advice, change of employment terms and case activity.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive or high-risk matters to the P&C Advisory Lead.
  • Develop practical P&C resources and identify opportunities to simplify and improve P&C processes.
  • Support broader P&C projects, programs and initiatives as required.

Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in a P&C advisory, employee relations or shared services role.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong communication, organisation, problem-solving and case management skills.
  • Customer-focused and able to build effective working relationships.
  • Professional judgement, attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in P&C systems and Microsoft Office, with an interest in using technology and AI to improve service delivery.
