About this Position  

The National Key Account Manager is responsible for leading and growing a portfolio of multi-million-dollar national customers within the food distribution sector. This role is critical in delivering sustainable revenue growth, protecting trading margin, and strengthening long-term customer partnerships across complex, multi-site networks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow customer relationships as the primary point of contact.
  • Develop and execute account plans to support customer goals and drive business growth.
  • Oversee sales performance and commercial terms, including forecasting, pricing, and contract renewals.
  • Identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities to expand account value.
  • Coordinate internal teams to deliver products, services, and customer commitments.
  • Resolve customer issues promptly and maintain a high level of satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report account performance, including KPIs, risks, and opportunities.

  • Substantial experience as Key Accounts Manager, ideally in Food Service
  • Understands financials, budgets, pricing, margins, and commercial terms
  • Knows how to get themselves across, imbedded and all over the account
  • Has passion for the customer’s goals and aligns solutions to drive mutual growth.
  • Builds trust, maintains credibility, and connects with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Looks at needs from the customer’s perspective and focuses on delivering value.
  • Anticipates issues, resolves challenges quickly, brings well‑considered solutions.
  • Communicates clearly, adapts style, collaborates effectively across teams.
  • Takes initiative, follows through on commitments, and actively identifies opportunities.
