About this Position

We’re looking for a hands-on, people-first Branch Operations Manager to lead our warehouse and transport operations in Launceston. With a team of up to 40 staff across drivers, pickers, store persons, this is a fast-paced and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You’ll be responsible for lifting team capability, streamlining processes, and driving a cultural shift that empowers and energises your people.

If you thrive on operational variety, coaching others, and leading from the floor, this is your opportunity to make a real impact. The team is ready for a fresh chapter, and we’re looking for someone who’s up for the challenge

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support three direct Supervisors and their wider teams across transport, picking, and stock control.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations including dispatch, receipting, stock rotation, and HACCP compliance.
  • Drive a cultural reset through coaching, clear communication, and consistent leadership.
  • Coordinate stock movement, storage, and system receipting in partnership with the Stock Controller.
  • Monitor and schedule vehicle and building maintenance.
  • Manage site rostering, overtime tracking, and support payroll reporting.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, compliant, and audit-ready environment.
  • Be visible and approachable, earning team trust by leading from the ground up.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience managing large, diverse teams (35-40 people) in a fast-paced operations or warehouse environment.
  • A natural coach and leader, skilled in upskilling, mentoring, and getting the best out of your people.
  • Hands-on and proactive you know your team, your stock, and your processes because you’re involved in them.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple functions and shift patterns.

Bonus (Nice to Have):

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and a proactive approach to site compliance.
  • Forklift Licence
  • Medium Ridgid Truck licence

What Success Looks Like (6-12 months)

  • A motivated and engaged team that feels supported, respected, and clear on their roles.
  • Stock is rotated, receipted, and packed away accurately and on time, reducing pick errors and delays.
  • Processes are tightened, out-of-stocks are minimised, and daily operations run smoothly.
  • HACCP and site safety standards are maintained with confidence and consistency.
  • You’ve earned the trust of your team by being on the floor, solving problems, and setting the tone for a positive culture.
