About this Position  

PFD Food Services is seeking a driven and customer-focused Key Account Manager - Institutional to join our team in Lytton, Brisbane. This role will focus on driving category growth and expanding our reach within government institutional departments across Queensland. Reporting directly to the State General Manager, you will play a crucial role in increasing product distribution and ensuring long-term, profitable growth for both PFD and our customers.

As a Key Account Manager, you’ll represent our brand as a professional, innovative, and customer-centric company, fostering strong relationships and achieving business objectives that contribute to the success of our state-wide operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive category growth across Queensland, focusing on government institutional accounts.
  • Increase product ranging within accounts to boost sales and profit.
  • Lead the achievement of agreed strategic, budget, and profit targets.
  • Conduct regular and effective customer calls, building strong, professional relationships.
  • Set promotional plans, keeping customers informed of supply and price trends.
  • Implement business plans that align with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to achieve business goals.
  • Complete reporting tasks accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Monitor competitor activity and report significant developments.
  • Develop and manage non-profitable accounts, turning them into profitable relationships.
  • Document, price, and submit tender responses with accuracy and attention to detail.

 

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • High-level experience in managing key accounts.
  • Sound computer literacy with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Tenacious with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to embrace challenging sales opportunities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and OH&S (Occupational Health and Safety) regulations.
  • Industry and sector experience within FMCG, Food Services, Manufacturing and or Government Institutions (highly desirable).
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills to analyse and interpret contracts, reports, and industry regulations.
